Kitchen Renovation & Addition

This project was a collaborated effort to construct a new facility while maintaining and restoring the historic building façade.

On site work included:

  Addition and renovation of kitchen and dining facility
  Concrete and brick work
  Structural steel, millwork and roofing
  Interior finishes and door hardware
  Mechanical, electrical, sprinkler and walk in boxes

The project required high level of security and hygiene while working. Project planning and execution was a challenge for reasons listed below:

  Kitchen prepares about 7,500 meals per day, operational almost all the time
  Phased project with extensive coordination to keep the old kitchen     operational
  Addition was completed while the kitchen and dining room was operational

 

 


Carter Barron Amphitheatre

This project was a collaborated effort to construct a new facility while maintaining and restoring the historic building façade.

On site work included:

  Site Electrical, and Utilities
  Stone Work
  New 4000 Seats
  Emergency generator UPS Backup system
  Installation of two electrical towers
  2 New Electrical Systems

The project posed several challenges that were met while execution:

  Work was completed during the cold winter months
  Poor soil was discovered which was needed to be replaced
  Despite additional work and poor weather the project was completed on time

 

 


Engine Company Replacement

This project was a collaborated effort to construct a new facility while maintaining and restoring the historic building façade.

On site work included:

  Face brick and stone masonry
  Concrete and brick work
  Wood windows and landscape work
  Emergency generator UPS Backup system
  Installation of three sliding poles with automatic shutters
  Installation of commercial kitchen and dining facility
  Complete Mechanical, Electrical, Dry|Wet Sprinkler systems

The project required special care, having a historic façade and being located in a busy area, posed several challenges that were met during its execution:

  Working under tight conditions while maintaining flow of pedestrian and vehicular traffic
  Shoring and maintaining the historic façade in safe conditions during     construction
  Coordinating material delivery with very limited storage space available at site

 


USDA New Poultry Facility

This project consisted of developing and constructing a completely new research facility from the ground up with covered area of about 30000 SF.

On site work included:

  Demolition, utilities and storm water management
  Concrete, brick work and paving
  Structural steel, millwork and roofing
  Interior finishes and door hardware
  Mechanical, electrical, sprinkler and safety areas
  Security system

The project designed to be used as a research facility had its own special requirements of ventilation systems, temperature control in the hatchery and breeder & growout wings of the building.


National Airport Canopy & Signage



 
Reagan National Airport, Washington DC

The scope of this project consisted of design and construction of a new area for the growing number of travelers at the National Airport.

On site work included:

  Post tensioning system
  Structural steel work
  Stainless steel work
  Snap fit arched stainless stell panels
  Architectural composite panels
  CCTV system
  Public address system and signage

The project posed several challenges that were successfully met during execution:

  Construction in an area under constant use by general public
  Extensive coordination with owner’s staff
  Very high accuracy ( < 1/16”) of work needed for snap fit panels
  Working in a very limited space while maintaining emergency exits for passengers.
